Fontus Solar was formed in 2019 and focuses on developing, owning and operating highly efficient solar power plants in investment grade Latin America. Our goal is to be a leading provider of solar energy for grid systems and industrial companies using clean and abundant energy provided by the sun.

Antay Solar
Installed Capacity: 13 MWp / 9 MWac
Antay Solar is a 9 MW (AC) photovoltaic solar power plant with TBEA central inverters and JA Solar panels on fixed structures located at the Termopacifico plant site. It is connected to the Cardones substation via Termopacifico’s electrical infrastructure. Termopacifico is owned and operated by Fontus Renewables’ sister company Prime Energía.

Don Arturo is an under-development solar plant project located in the Arica region. It falls under Chile’s PMGD (“Pequeños Medios de Generación Distribuidos“) Stabilized Price regulations regime. The environmental Impact Assessment Declaration (DIA) permit process has been started for this project. The Interconnection Criteria Report (“Informe de Criterios de Conexión”, “ICC”) has been obtained for this project.

Leadership
Brendan Wolters
Head of Solar
Mr. Wolters has been working within affiliates of the company since 2015. He is responsible the development and management of the solar business and is also responsible for the commercial and business development activities of Prime Energia Chile. Mr. Wolters has 14 years of professional experience with more than 9 years working in Latin America including M&A, corporate restructuring, and project development. Previously Mr. Wolters worked at Citigroup in New York in the internal financial group of the investment bank. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Connecticut.
Rodrigo Quezada
Solar Business Development Manager
Mr. Quezada is an energy executive with more than 11 years of energy sector experience in Chile. He is responsible the business development of the solar portfolio. Mr. Quezada has experience in electrical power systems, development of energy projects (green field and acquisitions for over 200 MW), project management and construction/operation of thermal and renewable plants. Previously Mr. Quezada worked at MBI Private Investment Fund, Energia de la Pagonia y Aysen and Transelec. He holds a Civil Electrical Engineering background from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile and a MBA from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile.
Andre Aerssens
Head of Construction
Mr. Aerssens is an experienced executive and Project Director with a demonstrated multicultural history, working worldwide in the International Energy & Power industry. He is responsible for the Projects and Construction management of the solar and other energy business. Mr. Aerssens has a 30+ years of professional experience with more than 20 years working in Latin America. Previously Mr. Aerssens worked 27+ years with ENGIE in different parts of the world. He holds a Mechanical & Aviation Engineer’s degree from HIRB Brussels.
